VALUE PROPOSITION

#1 Measure and innovate to reduce environmental impacts

objectifs-3

OBJECTIVES

A 7-step methodology to measure and reduce the environmental impact of your products.
MEASURE
1) Project framing: context analysis, definition of objectives, product identification.
2) Mobilization of in-house teams.
3) Assessment of the environmental impact of the reference situation using life cycle assessment (LCA).
REDUCE
4) Identification of courses of action: “hot spots”, benefits and prioritization via a cooperative workshop bringing together internal stakeholders (innovation, R&D, IT, purchasing, finance, marketing, sales).
5) Definition of the target and quantification of the solution via LCA + additional indicators.
6) Construction of action plan for implementation and sustainability.
7) Valuation of actions.
Measuring is the starting point of this approach. In our experience, many companies start with this step and allow themselves time to mature their impact reduction project. This second part can therefore be postponed.

LEARN MORE

# Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is the standardized reference method for quantifying the environmental impacts and benefits of products along their entire value chain or life cycle: from the production of raw materials to processing, packaging, transportation, distribution, use and end-of-life (disposal, recycling).

# A systemic approach, LCA cross-references different environmental aspects (climate change, air, water and soil pollution, resource use).

# It enables us to identify hotspots, prioritize areas for improvement and optimize products while avoiding impact transfers. LCA is the starting point for improving your products and services, and more broadly, for the circular economy.
