Sayari is pleased to add Siloë AUDIC to its team as an environmental studies assistant. We took this opportunity to ask her a few questions.

Here’s her interview.

Why did you choose Sayari?

I’ve been sensitive to environmental issues for several years now, and it was natural for me to look for an internship in this field for my 2nd year at the Ecole Polytechnique. Sayari particularly appealed to me because of its expertise in biodiversity issues and its unique position at the crossroads between the worlds of research and business.

What will you be working on?

I am currently working on a project to model the quantity of phytosanitary substances applied to different productions in France. I’m looking forward to contributing to multiple biodiversity and LCA projects during my internship.

Which environmental issues concern you most?

I’m very concerned about all environmental issues, but the ocean is the one I’d most like to work on. It’s one of the most important components of our planet, producing oxygen, regulating the climate… And it’s suffering enormously from the environmental crisis. Ocean acidification, loss of biodiversity, plastic pollution and many other problems make the ocean one of the most important issues for the years to come.

What are your favorite hobbies?

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved reading, which allows me to discover different cultures and eras, but also to dream, with science fiction for example. I’ve also been playing the saxophone for over 14 years now, and I’m lucky enough to still be playing in a wind band. And I also love sport, both watching and playing it!

If you were an animal, you’d be…

A sea turtle is an animal that has to fight to survive the first few hours of its life to reach the ocean, but afterwards is one of the most majestic marine animals. I find it very inspiring.

If you had to go to a deserted island, what 3 things would you take with you?

My saxophone, the biggest book I can find and a notebook, I think.
